How do I add thumbnails to my blog?

  I have published two blog posts on liveworkplaywell.wordpress.com blog.

  I am using the Geologist Blue theme; in that template, there seem to be three thumbnails which if clicked on populate the full content for that post.

  How do I transfer the previous two blogs to the theme AND have the third blog AUTOMATICALLY (?) have its thumbnail added to the main site?

  The plan is to publish each month, and it would be nice to continue to automatically, if possible have each thumbnail added to the main site…

  Finally, how do I export the WP blogs to my SquareSpace website while I maintain the WP site?

  Hi there,

  That thumbnail is the featured image for each post, and will appear automatically as long as you have a featured image assigned.

  From what you say it sounds like you also want only an excerpt of your post to show, like on the theme’s demo, correct?

  For that, go to Settings ->Reading, and set the Homepage displays option at the top to Latest Posts. This theme’s default posts page displays only post excerpts on the front page, but at the moment you’re instead using a static page that’s set up to display full posts, not excerpts.

  You’ll notice once you do this that your most recent post, WOMEN HAVE NOTHIN’ BETTER TO DO…, doesn’t display a thumbnail. That’s because this post doesn’t have a featured image set yet.

  Let me know if you have questions about this.

  I’m afraid I don’t understand what you mean here. Are you saying you have posts on other sites/blogs that you want to migrate to this site? Or something else?

  You can export content from any WordPress.com site using our exporter under Tools ->Export:

  https://wordpress.com/en/support/export/

  That will give you a .XML file of the site content at the time that file was generated, which you can then import to another site/platform. Please contact Squarespace support directly for instructions on the import process on their end.
