How do I add to the navigation bar?

  I’ve started a blog and I’m using the ‘Vigilance’ theme by Drew Strojny. I want to create a ‘first page’ that shows when you first enter the blog. this would be Drew’s ‘Home’ button. I then want to add a link which will take you into the site proper, so to speak.

  So…
  1. How do I create a static page for my ‘Home’ page?
  2. How do I create links for the top nav bar?
