How do I adjust settings to get widgets appear on site as set on dashboard?

I have using wordpress.com for about a year and using widgets sidebar feature. (author grid) for my site. For some reason I can’t get the proposed 3 changes in the work site to appear as written on the site. I have saved each widget, cleared cache, and forced refresh. Sometimes 2 of the 3 widgets don’t appear and then sometimes only one widget appears on the site repeated 3 times (i.e. no match to changes made on work site. Only thing changed since used last is that I went to co administrator recently. Whereas before I was the single administrator. I

Hi, were you able to resolve this or do you still need some help?

If you still need some help, please let us know which widgets you’ve added and where they’re supposed to appear.

Hi, I apologize for the delay in responding to your reply. I had been attempting to use the author grid widget for 3 different messages on my site. Was not able to get it to work. What I posted in the dashboard did not match up to what was seen on the site. Tried clearing, reposting, and different position settings in dashboard but what was seen on site either did not appear or sometimes repeated only one message. I then tried using 3 different widgets ( author grid, custom widget category, and Posts I like), one for each message and this work around worked for me. I got the 3 messages on my site but why can’t I use the author grid repeated 3 times utilizing saving and positional features as seems to be permitted in dashboard. Is there some software design limitation I am not aware of. Thanks, Bill

The Author Grid widget is used when there are multiple authors on a site. It will display the author’s gravatar and a link to Posts which they have published. https://en.support.wordpress.com/widgets/author-grid-widget/

The Category widget will display a link to Posts which have been assigned to that Category. https://en.support.wordpress.com/widgets/categories-widget/

Since your site seems to be Page-based and does not utilize the Posts page, the categories widget won’t show anything. https://en.support.wordpress.com/post-vs-page/

The Posts I Like widget should display a list of Posts you’ve liked across WordPress.com https://en.support.wordpress.com/widgets/posts-i-like-widget/

I do see that you’ve added announcements as text to your sidebar and you may want to publish those as Posts instead. You can then use the Recent Posts in your sidebar which will link to them.

To learn more about using widgets in general, you may want to read this Support doc: https://en.support.wordpress.com/widgets/

In the Related links in the sidebar on that Support page you have links to all the currently available widgets on WordPress.com

Let us know if you need more help with that.
