How Do I Back Up My Blog

  One of my friends’ blogs (not a WordPress blog) crashed recently and he lost all sorts of stuff. I want to know how to back up my blog so that that doesn’t happen to my blog.

  Aside from periodically exporting your blog contents as described in the thread judyb12 has supplied, you can simply subscribe to your own blog feds and accomplish the same thing. Also if you use an off-line blog editor like BlogDesk then you will automatically have a copy of all of your posts (minus comments) on your own computer.

  Let’s just go ahead and answer the question with a specific answer, folks.

  Dashboard -> manage -> Export. That will save a *.xml copy of your written work to your desktop. (Or at least load it into your browser from where you can save it.)
