How do I back up my blog?

  How do I back up my blog? I’ve done it in the past, but can’t remember how.

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  Hello there!

  Using the inbuilt WordPress export tool (Tools -> Export), you can easily export your WordPress blog into an XML file which effectively serves as a backup. You may feel to import the file using the WordPress importer (Tools -> Import) and retrieve all the content in your blog.

  Just a note to say that the importer exporter appears to be broken as in many recent threads Staff have to reset the importer and in others Staff have to do the exports.

  I too noticed the same here in the forums; was under the impression that it was a sporadic issue. Could be an issue with WP 4.2.2 I guess… Any other workarounds for backup/export?

  Thanks. Just tried Export, and it seemed to work all right.

  I have read somewhere that Export doesn’t back up links to external sites. In my posts, I use link to Youtube quite often; are those included in the export, so if I had to restore, those links would also be restored?
