How do I back up my blog to Dropbox?

Is there a tutorial or instruction as to how to back up a WP.com blog to Dropbox?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi ckswarriorqueen,
WordPress.com already handles all the necessary backups but if you want to back up your blog manually you can do so by from your Dashboard -> Tools -> Export. This will take you to the Export page. Click the blue Export button. This will create an XML file containing your posts and comments for you to save or import into another WordPress blog. The XML file will be downloaded to your computer which you can then upload to your Dropbox account.
There’s no feature yet that automatically backups your WordPress.com blog to Dropbox but that would be super cool if the developers would be able to create that feature.

Hope this helps. :)

You should look into the use of an off-line editor if you want to have a copy/backup on your hard-drive or backed up on DropBox, TimeMachine, or orther system for backing up your files on your computer.

Note: the backup file has the words / text only – there are links to the pictures but no picture files

Yes, the xml file does not include files from the media library (pictures, etc.)
@auxclass,
This is a question because I’ve never used offline editors:
“But if you use an offline editor, then all your info should be on your hard drive?”We handle backups of all WordPress.com hosted sites, but you are free to create your own backup at any time. You can do that by going to Tools->Export in your WordPress.com dashboard.
You can find more info on backups and exports here: http://en.support.wordpress.com/export/#backups

yes if you use an offline editor such as Windows Live Writer a copy of the draft Post or Page is saved on your hard drive.
If you edit the Post after sending it to your blog I don’t think the changes can be sent back down – but not 100% sure about that – but getting a copy of the actual published would be a separate operation I think (never paid much attention to things once I sent the Post to the web site)

But I think my question is also about how the images and other files are handled with an off line editor: Are they included in what is saved on your hard drive or not? As I said, I’ve never actually used any of those editors…

I looked at a couple of files for WLW and it looks like at least some of the images are part of the file
The way I now handle the images when using WLW is to make a folder for pictures in the WLW folder and put the web pictures in that folder – keeps things together a bit better
When I load the pictures directly from my camera folders, I make a folder called “web” that has all the pictures edited for the web in the one folder – usually I also keep a copy of the original picture in it’s own folder in case I want to rework the picture at some time in the future
