How do I back up my wordpress file and folder structure and MySQL database?

    We have downloaded the xml file but see that the wp domain name we purchased is hard coded in the xml file. If we cancel the wp domain trinlife.net, will the database automatically change all those references to trinlifedotnet.wordpress.com? If not, we’d rather have the file structure and database than the xml file.

    Hi there!

    If you cancel your WordPress.com site, but upload the XML file into a self-hosted WordPress.org site, or another blogging platform, there will be tools to make those adjustments. Some platforms will do it automatically, others will require a simple plugin.

    If you wanted to do it manually, you could also do it through a simple find and replace in the XML file, if you need to make the adjustments before uploading to a new system.
