How do I become adminstrator on site
-
my site is myrtlecup.com I somehow changed my profile from being administrator to follower and now cannot access the dashboard to renew my domain name. How do I correct this? How do I add myself back as administrator when I cannot access the dashboard?

The issue is that the WordPress.com user account that you are posting from was not ever the owner or admin of myrtlecup.com.
So you must have ended up with a second WordPress.com account at some point. You will need to log into the other account in order to access the myrtlecup.com dashboard.

Thanks for your help. Unfortunately if I don’t know what the username or registered email address is on the account account I need to access I cannot get access. I tried account recovery and provided the transaction I’d from when I paid to renew it last year, but all I got back was an email telling me how to get a lost password. Any other thoughts? Is there a number I can call. I really need to be the administrator again so I can manage it and pay to renew our web address. It’s expired and someone could go and claim it.

Have you tried entering any/all old emails in the password recovery form:

I’ve tried everything. Nothing works. I just need someone at WordPress.com to look at the site, see that I have paid to renew the domain the last two years, note that my email address has not changed during that time and put the pieces together and fix whatever glitch changed me from administrator to whatever I am today. Is it possible to get to a tech person with WordPress that can access the site and fix all this? Thanks for all help

It isn’t a tech issue so much as it is a security issue. I’m sure you understand that we cannot just hand out login information to anyone who claims to own a site. Especially in this day and age of identity theft.

I am sending you an email to the address associated with your WordPress.com account. Please let me know if you do not receive it.

I’m having a similar problem and need staff assistance but I can’t even figure out how to get in touch with staff via a better way. I understand the security issue but my site access is getting to be a big problem for me. Extremely frustrated with this product.
