How do I break individual pages to appear similarly to my home page?

If you look at the autoTRADER.ca page – http://chrismhmoore.com/portfolio/autotrader-ca/ – and notice how the images and corresponding text appear, they don’t look related.
Now if you go to my homepage – http://chrismhmoore.com/ – you notice how each post has is own segment of the page.
I would like to be able to do the same on my individual portfolio pages to give each piece of work its own space that would also contain its description. Maybe being able to post within pages would give me the desired effect? Or if you have a better idea to give my work better space on their individual pages I would be all ears.

What is on the main page are individual posts, whereas your portfolio page is a single page (think of it sort of like a single post), so everything is in the one entry.
A couple of suggestions for separating content on a page would be to put a heading above each to separate them out. You could also use a horizontal rule above or below them in addition to a heading. The code for a horizontal rule is
<hr />You can find the different headings in the Styles pulldown on the left end of the lower row of tools in the visual editor.

You cannot literally create posts on pages: you create posts, file them under the appropriate category, and add these categories to a custom menu. For more details see these posts of mine:
