How do I build a webpage using your product?

When we register a username account the matching blog is reserved for our future use. It cannot be obtained by anyone other than the person who has registered the matching username account. If and only if you have that username account then the blog is reserved for you and you will be able to register it. https://signup.wordpress.com/signup/

to auxclass: I do not have a blog registered because I don’t want a blog; I want a website. There were no directions about creating a website or anything that I remember stating that it was necessary to register a blog to proceed. Please provide the link for that page for registering a blog. I’m not sure that I understand the system well enough to know if I can convert the blog to a website and how to do it. I don’t want to waste any more time fiddling with blogs when I need web pages.

I already answered that above the second time I posted.
A blog is a website.
First you register a blog.
Then you change the structure from being post based to page based.
Then you call it a website. -
A BLOG IS A WEB SITE
@TT gave you the link to signup for a “blog”
Then using the instructions above – make some Pages (one or two) then stop back here – don’t get worry about if you have a “web site” or a “blog” – that will waste everyone’s time
Just signup and try putting some test stuff on your site – we can then nudge you in the proper direction for an easy to maintain site that does much more than your old site but much easier to maintain

Thanks all for your patience. I have a blog setup with 2 pages and I even posted a message to it.
I was exploring themes and have accidentally put one on my page 1. How do I remove it?
I went through all the options and stuff on dashboard on the left but could find nothing to change the structure. -
-
If you change the status to Discourage Search Engines – we can see the site and probably help – and search engines will still be told to keep out
-
I changed the settings. blog is astroham46… and you have my permission to access it.
I would like to remove the theme from page 1. It did not work as I expected.
What is the instruction path to change the structure to page based? I would like to be able to do it myself when I am ready. -
You can have one theme and one theme only on any WordPress.COM blog. Go back to the beginning of this thread and read exactly what I stated. You cannot design your own theme – be clear on that.
https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/how-do-i-build-a-webpage-using-your-product?replies=28#post-2115710You can quickly and easily change themes on any WordPress.COM hosted blog to another one found here http://wordpress.com/themes/ and no data will be lost or negatively affected by the change. The only time you may have to do some work is if you are changing to a dramatically different theme and have done any CSS editing.
Provided you are logged in as Admin under the same username account that registered the blog go to Dashboard > Appearance > Themes and browse themes until you find one you like and click “activate” or type in the name of the theme you want to use and
click the “activate” link when it appears. -

Here we go again. Any WordPress blog can be restructured from being post based to being page based – no upgrade required. For greater clarity read > http://en.support.wordpress.com/using-wordpress-to-create-a-website/ and http://onecoolsitebloggingtips.com/2013/07/25/create-a-wordpress-website-step-by-step/

Please don’t worry about that part yet – until you have some pages – you can’t change anything –
Use the instructions from @TT above –
1) Make two more Posts – if nothing else – call them “Post 2” put some junk text in the Posts
2) Make two or three PAGES – again – if nothing else “Page 1 Test” and put some sort of text in each Page –
You need to see how your site looks with Pages & Posts – – spending all your time worrying about “Page based” is spinning your wheels and getting you upset over not much
The look of your site can easily be changed by picking a different Theme – that is the next step
-
OK. As far as I know, I have only one theme on page 1. I loaded a photo of a sunrise onto page 2 but did nothing that I know of to make it a theme. I just loaded some media. I will make some more posts and pages and put stuff on them. I’d still like to find out how to remove the theme on page 1 but all will wait for tomorrow. Too much time spent on this already today. Thanks for your help.

I read http://en.support.wordpress.com/using-wordpress-to-create-a-website/ and
http://onecoolsitebloggingtips.com/2013/07/25/create-a-wordpress-website-step-by-step/ several times each and at least one level of the embedded links in each article. I must be dense or WP has a different way of saying it but I could find nothing in either one of these articles that tells me how to convert the post based structure of a blog to the page based structure of a website. There was nothing I read that told me what steps to do to convert a blog to a website. -
I put a theme on a page but it doesn’t work right or doesn’t work at all. How do I delete a theme from my blog’s home page?
-
I went to the Themes page and clicked on Harmonic and then Live Demo. All I ever got was the page showing 2 people in a field. If this is a live demo, what is supposed to happen?
-
As noted above – make three Posts and three Pages with fake text in each – until you do that you are wasting my time and yours – your site needs some content on it for you to see what different themes look like – don’t waste anymore time on changing your site to a “web site ” until you have three each Posts and Pages

Regrettably this experience has been almost a total waste of time for all of us. The directions on the website are unclear and 7 hours of time was wasted because of the blog vs website issue. I found out that the company that hosts our website also has WordPress and a great deal more meaningful help.

Good luck – – sorry you did not want to follow our help we offered to you – had you followed our instructions on the test site your site would have been around half built out by now
Note also the software for what you want to do works the same there as here – so you will have the same issues anyplace you go
