How do I cancel an existing domain before renewal

Hi, can anyone help me please? I got an email renewal notice on Saturday 25th April saying my upgrade and domain were going to expire next month. I was going to cancel my upgrade and the associated domain (we haven’t really used it at all) but before I got to it, I received another email today (Monday 27th April) two days later saying it had been renewed and I had been charged. I have been on to the site and have managed to cancel the upgrade package but I cannot see anyway to cancel the domain name. Can anyone tell me how to do this as I don’t want to be charged for something I am not using. Thanks in advance. Roy.

WordPress.com provides a 30-day refund on all upgrades except Domain Registrations, Domain Renewals, and Guided Transfers.
The refund period for Domain Registrations and Renewals is 48 hours. https://en.support.wordpress.com/my-upgrades/#canceling-upgrades
Note: It takes from 1 – 2 weeks for the refund to be received.

Hi Timethief, thanks for the quick response. I saw you had posted these links to another member asking a similar question and had followed them earlier, the 48 hour refund period is very useful to know. The link you have to “canceling-upgrades” says there is a settings button next to the domain that allows you to cancel, but this doesn’t exist when I go to the actual “my upgrades” page. I have been on my dashboard and cancelled the upgrade there ok but I don’t See the settings cog for the domain. It’s just not there like it is in the example picture. Yes, hopefully staff can sort it out.

Sorry for the trouble! I just cancelled that domain name for you and issued a full refund for the renewed upgrade. It may take some time for that refund to appear on your bank statement, but you can find the refund receipt in your Billing History.
Please let me know if I can do anything more to help with that. :)
