How do I cancel auto-billing to my site and continue using www.(mysite).wordpress.com?

Hi,
I bought the premium account on WordPress to remove the .wordpress.com bit from www.(mysite).wordpress.com, and after a year I decided it was no longer worth me having the premium site and I could just use it as www.(mysite).wordpress.com. So I didn’t bother recharging the PayPal account WordPress auto-bills for that account. I was hit with $20 fine, which I have already paid, but WordPress is already telling me they will auto bill in about a month’s time. How do I cancel this and continue using the site as www.(mysite).wordpress.com. Thanks.

Hi phelyks,

You can cancel your Premium Plan on the Manage Purchases page of your account: https://wordpress.com/me/purchases

Your site content will still be available. You can also find more information about canceling automatic renewal here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/faq-renewing-and-canceling/#auto-renew-off

Hope this helps! Let me know if you have other questions about this.

Hi jamiepalatnik

Thank you for answering, but when I head over to https://wordpress.com/me/purchases this is what I get http://prntscr.com/g0t88p and I don’t see the option for cancellation.

And how do I reach WordPress support via phone call or email? Anyone, please share a phone number or email.

Thanks for sending the screenshot! From this it doesn’t look like your account currently has any active upgrades. I will tag this thread for staff attention so they can confirm.

Posting here in the community forums is the best place to get support if you don’t have a paid upgrade. If you have a paid upgrade, you can contact support via a Contact Support form or live chat. You can find more information about WordPress.com support options here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/help-support-options/

• Hi there,

There are no upgrades on your account, so nothing that is due to renew.

Instead, it looks like there’s an error in the email. The $20 fee was applied because you filed a chargeback against us in August last year, but that’s a once-off payment to unlock your site after a chargeback. You won’t be charged again for that.

I’ve let our billing team know about this so they can fix that email :)

Hi kokkieh

I got this emails a few days ago >>https://prnt.sc/g19gb5<<

Does it mean my domain name will be unregistered on Aug 23rd? Or did you mean the emails was sent by mistake?

• That email comes from our registrar, and regards your domain’s actual registration. It has nothing to do with the receipt you got for the chargeback fee, or with renewal of the upgrade on our system.

When you filed the chargeback against us the domain wasn’t completely deleted, just the upgrade was removed from your account.

The domain is now approaching expiration at which point it will be completely cancelled and removed, but registrars must send an email at this point, even if the domain is no longer active/being used. You can just ignore that email. You are not going to be charged for anything.
