How do I cancel domain mapping?
-
I bought the domain mapping from wordpress.com a while back, but now I want to host my own site and keep my domain. I changed the nameservers back on the GoDaddy side, but I’m still getting forwarded to the wordpress.com hosted blog.
Is there something I’m missing?Btw – I found this thread, but no dice: http://tinyurl.com/cbnjn4
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

You can’t generally move a domain name for sixty days after you’ve assigned it to one site. Is that a factor?
-
That is the domain itself (changing registrars) and not domain mapping, rain.
The OP should follow the instructions in the link and use the “put blog here” function to put the blog back on the wordpress.com url and not the mapped domain. Plus, it can take a while for the DNS to propagate even after changing the nameservers – I believe the FAQ says 72 hours.

Yes, if you’ve already changed your nameservers then DNS propagation delay is the only factor – could be a few hours or a couple of days depending on factors outside anyone’s control.
Contact support staff if it’s still not happening then, we’ll check on it for you.
