How do I cancel domain mapping?
-
Hello!
I am switching from wordpress.com to wordpress.org and I have a domain name mapped to my .com. I want to cancel that mapping to eventually delete my .com account.
Also, I purchased the domain mapping less than 24 hours ago–Is it possible to get a refund?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Note that I am tagging this thread for Staff follow-up. If you cancel a domain there is no guarantee that you can purchase it again elsewhere and use it on a WordPress.ORG site, so you can discuss this with Staff. WordPress.com provides a 30-day refund on all upgrades except Domain Registrations, Domain Renewals, and Guided Transfers.
The refund period for Domain Registrations and Renewals is 48 hours. https://en.support.wordpress.com/my-upgrades/#canceling-upgrades
Note: It takes from 1 – 2 weeks for the refund to be received.
See here:
Dashboard > Store > My Upgrades
http://en.support.wordpress.com/my-upgrades/Dashboard > Store > Billing History
http://en.support.wordpress.com/Billing-History/Provided you are logged in under the same username account that purchased the upgrade, and you are within the allowed time frame for refunds, you can cancel and request a refund from your dashboard > Store > My Upgrades. You can also disable auto-renew there. http://en.support.wordpress.com/my-upgrades/#canceling-upgrades

I see. I have my domain under hover–I just had it re-directed to wordpress.com, but that’s what cost $13. So I’m just wondering if that is reversible?

I’ve removed your Upgrade and refunded the associated charge. Please keep in mind that it takes 1-2 weeks for the transaction to show up on your financial statement.
If you want to permanently delete your site, follow the guide below:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/settings/delete-site/
Please read the warnings and advice before deleting a site, as we can’t revert a site deletion for any reason.
If you want to hide your site instead, you can use the following guide to make your site private so only you and other members of the site can view it when logged in:

pmciano! You’re wonderful, thank you so much.
And just to make sure, this means that once I switch over to wordpress.org I will be able to map that to my domain that I own and it shouldn’t be a problem?
Thanks so much again!!

As the registrant of the domain citizenofthefoodiverse.com, you can go to its registrar, TUCOWS DOMAINS INC., and point the domain wherever you like. It’s your choice.
