How do I cancel expired domain?

Custom domain expired 4 months ago and when I click cancel, it says “cancellation pending”. Now I’m using old domain but when I type it in the address bar, a popup on my blog says “Uh oh! Your blog’s domain expired 122 days ago! Your blog’s domain stopped functioning on Monday, December 15, 2014 and visitors who come to the web address cannot find your site any more.” Is there any other way to really cancel the custom domain and remove that popup?

It can take some time for a cancellation to clear. I have tagged this thread so that it can be addressed by a staff member. Please make sure you are subscribed to this thread so that you know when the staff member responds. You can subscribe by clicking the “Subscribe to Topic” link on the right.
Please remember, if you let a domain expire someone else may buy it and you may never get it back!
