How do I cancel hosting but save all website data?

    I have a site that I have hosted at HostGator, but there’s not much traffic at the moment and I’m thinking of stopping the hosting because it adds up per year.

    I put the site together with a WordPress template a few years ago, but I don’t do website design that often, so some of that information in my head is a little rusty. So, assume I might not know the technicalities.

    My question is how do I backup the site as it is and if I started hosting back up would all of the postings/settings be lost? Is there a way of saving everything?

    Also, is there a way of viewing the site without having hosting? I use Dreamweaver.
