How do I centre image captions?
-
I am on the McKinley theme – while the image captions appear centred in the post page, they appear aligned left on my blog.
I have referred to the forums on this topic but can’t make sense of the solutions provided and will be grateful for help on this.
Many thanks.

Have you tried selecting the caption and then choosing the “align center” option in the toolbar?

Hi Mindybowman,
Thanks for your response. Yes I”ve tried that – selecting the caption and then choosing ‘align centre’ in the toolbar is the only way I could get the caption to appear centre in the ‘edit post’ page. However the caption still appears aligned left in the post.

Apparently this is part of the base theme. (I tried several different things and am getting the same results.)
If it’s mega important, you can change this, but you will have to get the upgrade: http://en.support.wordpress.com/custom-design/.
Then throw in some custom CSS: http://en.support.wordpress.com/custom-design/custom-css/ and http://en.support.wordpress.com/custom-design/css-basics/
And then you can check out this forum post for the code you need: https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/image-caption-text?replies=4#post-1141041.
Hope that helps. :)
