How do I change a comment author (before posting)?
-
I created a new blog from my existing profile. When I try to reply to comments, my avatar and username for my primary blog show up, but I’d like to reply as the blog I’m using instead. E.g. I’m on my garden blog, and I would like to reply as that garden blog, but my other blog’s (personal blog) avatar and info. I’d like to keep the two separate (one is professional, one is personal).
I feel like I’m somewhat adept at this wonderful service, but I’m feeling like a noob right now. Help a sister out?
Best,
SaraThe blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

The easiest way to do that is to set up a second WordPress.com account. There is no “post as ______” functionality to choose who you want to appear as on WordPress.com.

Dang. Thanks for the help! I think I’ll delete the blog and start over under a different email then.
Maybe a feature to consider? I can’t be the only blogger with multiple sites.
Warmest regards,

Keep in mind that once you delete a blog, it is gone forever. The URL cannot be reused.
You might find it more useful to open a new WordPress.com user account and then transfer ownership of the blog to that new account using these instructions:
-
You CAN go to the Profile page of your dashboard and change the Nickname and URL you use every time, and then change it back after you leave the comment but everyone screws this up very shortly after trying it. Everyone.

Rootjosh, that’s a really smart idea. I’ll do that. Thanks.
Raincoaster, I’ll give it a whirl, at least until I transfer ownership. Tooo bad we can’t change the blavatar at the same time. Still, an okay workaround. Thanks for that.

Happy to help.
I do admit that a better system for this sort of thing is one of the enhancements that I personally would like to see on WordPress.com.
