How do I change a wordpress blog site to a regular wordpress website?

I have a blog on wordpress.com. I would like to change it over to a regular website.

sorry! basically, someone else made the site for me so i dontn know much about how it was done. apparently it was made with a “custom theme and its been edited using CSS with the upgraded account” im not exactly sure what that means. my brother has a site and was going to help me build mine, but when we went and looked at the dashboard, it is completely different than his so we cannot work it. in a nutshell, i would like to know the difference between mariannavigliotti.com and sevenstringhomes.com and if there is anyway to change mine over to be the same thing.

Hello there Marianna!
You can have a regular website here at WordPress.com. While you have a theme chosen, because there only very little content (ie. Text, Images, etc), it doesn’t look quite right yet.
As you’re a newer user of WordPress.com, I recommend you start here:
learn.wordpress.com
Many of the first steps have already been taken by the person who built your site, but you should read through everything, so you know exactly how to manage and maintain it.
If you don’t like the look of your site, once you get to section 5, “Get Personality,” in the learning guide, you might decide to adjust the theme. You’re not “stuck” with anything you don’t like.
I know it seems intimidating initially, but once you’re comfortable, you’ll feel like a pro.
