How do I change author name on my different blog posts

Is there any way to change the author name on the front page of my blog? Right now it defaults to the name of the account I am using adn that will not work for this situation. Ideally, each post could have a different author – the name of the person who wrote it..?? thank you in advance.

If you have a wordpress.com blog, you can do forum and FAQ searches. The general answer is that you can add different authors and contributors, but this would be a hassle if you wanted a different author for each and every post.
I think the smart option would be to pick a theme without the display of an author name, and do it manually.

Usually there is a Author drop down at the bottom lefthand side of the editor page. We have 13 staff writers, and all are listed there. They all have their own access, so when they start writing, the wordpress picks up their login and assigns the name accordingly.
However, i we have put a writers info in from an outside source, say they sent us a word doc or text file, and we posted it, we can assign their name from the drop down menu down the bottom . .you should see it on the bottom left side under the post window . . unless I’m mistaken ?
SO we can change the name easily if we have admin status that is – –
