How do I change DNS servers?

  • Unknown's avatar

I’m trying to switch to a different DNS server because I want to use a self-hosted blog. I followed your support guide to this (http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/change-name-servers/) and I’ve run into problems. The guide says to log into my domain manager, click the “Store” tab, and then click “Domains”. It then claims that I will find a “Domain Administration” Section and I can select “Make Changes to DNS” in the menu below. When I click on “Domains” under the “Store” section, there is no “Domain Administration Section” and the page does not look anything like the screen shot provided in the support guide. Please let me know what else I can do to change servers. Thank you.

    Hi there,

The page which you are talking about is for domains that are registered through WordPress.com. You have purchased Domain Mapping, which is a product for domains which already are owned by you, but which you’d like to point towards your blog.

Your domain “sl-lawfirm.com” is actually registered through ENOM, Inc and so if you would like to change the nameservers for your domain you will need to log in to your account with them in order to do so.
