How do I change from .com to a wordpress .com?

I already bought a .com from wordpress but I didn’t know it doesn’t allow plugins. So now I heard that only wordpress.org allows plugin. How do i move from a .com to another .com? Can a WP engineer please contact me? I’d prefer an expert to do the transfer; I won’t know what to do. When the transfer is complete, will the SEO drop? Thanks.

You can find information about moving to a self hosted WordPress install here:

If you’d like our Happiness Engineers to handle the transfer for you, you can purchase Guided Transfer:

Let me know if you have any more questions!

    Thanks Shauna. 2 more questions.

    1. Will my SEO be affected by the move?

    2. I tried to get the Happiness Engineer help but it says “upgrade unavailable” for my blog. How do I solve this?

That’s difficult to predict. Provided the permalink structure on your posts remain the same (you can set this up on your self-hosted site under Settings -> Permalink), all of your search indexed URLs should continue to work correctly so you shouldn’t experience much of a dip. Unfortunately, I can’t make any guarantees though. If you do experience any dip at all, it should bounce back after a few weeks/months of publishing consistently to your self-hosted site.

The Guided Transfer option is unavailable if your site has a custom design upgrade setup. If you would like, I can remove the custom design upgrade so you can purchase the Guided Transfer. Just let me know!
