How do I change login details to only one of my two websites?
-
I have two (private) blogs. One is for myself only, it’s more of a diary, the other one I created for my family, with pictures, family memories etc.
When I log into WordPress I have access to both websites. But since I want to provide my family members with the login information to the family blog – but not to my diary – I want to “separate them”, that is creating new login information for the family blog. How do I do that?
I don’t know if I made myself clear though …

Hi there!
Thanks for getting in touch – your explanation of the issue was very clear :)
From what I can see here in your account, there are indeed two sites on the same account. If you want to separate them out into different accounts/logins, there are a few things you’d need to do:
- First, create a new WordPress.com account. You’ll need a separate email address in order to do this.
- You’ll then need to add that new account as an administrator on the site you want to move.
- Then, on the current owner’s account, head to Settings > General, scroll to Site Tools, and choose the option to transfer your site.
- You can then select the new account name and complete the transfer.
There’s more on those steps right here, just in case! https://wordpress.com/support/transferring-a-site-to-another-wordpress-com-account/#for-sites-without-plugins

You’re welcome!
Did you plan to use both sites as blogs or something else? If you like, we can help to offer more personalized recommendations based on what you’d like to achieve with each site.
It can be nice to have a custom domain to make the site more memorable to your followers, enhance your brand, get a custom matching email address, and much more.
Each of our annual hosting plans comes with a domain free for the first year:
