How do I change menu background colors?

  I am currently working on updating my site theme to hemingway-rewritten. I would like to change both the background color of the menu bar, and the background color of the site title box. I am still very new to CSS and, despite my research, seem to be having a difficult time finding the information I need to do that.

  Any help you could provide would be greatly appreciated!
