How do i change my background colour?

  • Unknown's avatar

I’m using the MistyLook theme and i can’t figure out how to change my background colour, like the frame surrounding the main box of content. When i broached someone in support, they said to go to ‘Appearance’ and then ‘background option’ which i don’t have – or can’t see.

I also don’t know how to change the font colour from green to ANYTHING else.
Or how to make the first comment(s) preview on the page. It’s annoying to have to click ‘Read comments’ everytime.

    Can anyone help?

Mistylook does not have the background image and colors customization options of the newer themes.

The only way to change the color on the background in Mistylook is to buy the CSS upgrade AND have some CSS editing experience.

Changing the color of the read more link also takes the CSS upgrade. As far as showing comments on the main page, the only theme able to do that is the P2 theme which is sort of a twitter like thing.

You might want to do a search of the themes using the “features filter” and search for custom background image and color. Most of the newer themes that have been released have that feature. MistyLook has been around for eons, and does not have them.

Thanks guys – i’ll look into all that! Is it easy to switch themes once your blog is established?

Yes, just go to the Themes page under Appearance on the dashboard and select whatever theme you want: you can Preview and then Activate it. Best to copy all the contents of your text widgets first into text files on your computer, just in case something goes wrong, but otherwise it’s easy.
