How do I change my blog title so it shows the new title in the URL?

    I have followed the instructions in Help for changing a blog title — going under Settings/General.

    The new title is showing up in the header of my blog, but the URL hasn’t changed, and when I try to type in the URL with the new title, it doesn’t lead me to my blog.

    What am I doing wrong?

    p.s.: I want to change FROM “thewordbath.wordpress.com” TO “thewordslinger.wordpress.com”

    Thank you, Timethief. But I tried that, and it didn’t work. The change shows up in my header but not the URL. That’s why I started the thread.

    I’m open to any other suggestions.

    There are only two ways to change a URL ie. a blog address.

    If you want to purchase your own domain then that will require an upgrade

    Thank you for clarifying that.

    I have now changed the blog address as directed in your link. It seems to have worked, but I now have two additional problems.

    1. I’m attempting to buy a “site redirect” to make sure the traffic from the old blog address is forwarded to my new address. Both addresses are on WordPress.

    The site redirect purchase feature is telling me this:

    “To begin your Site Redirect upgrade purchase, enter the URL below to which you want your thewordslingerblog.wordpress.com blog traffic to redirect.”

    I want my traffic to end up at wordslinger, not direct from wordslinger. Does that make sense? It sounds like the program thinks wordslinger is the originating address, and it’s not…it’s the destination address.

    Secondly, changing the address seems to have created an entirely new dashboard in addition to my old one. They are both called wordslinger. How do I get rid of the extraneous one?
