How do I change my blog to a website?
-
I want my blog to be an online literary magazine, not a blog. I don’t want readers to make posts and comments on every thing posted. I want to post material and have people read it. I can’t customize my site to my liking, or my needs. Help please!

Hi there,
A lot of how your site will look will depend on the theme you choose and how you decide to enter and label your content. Many websites on WordPress.com are not blogs but are similar to what you’re wanting to create.
You might want to check out http://theme.wordpress.com/themes/subjects/magazine/ to browse different themes to find one that works better for a magazine layout.
A few themes that you might like (some are free, some are not):
http://theme.wordpress.com/themes/visual/
http://theme.wordpress.com/themes/thestyle/
http://theme.wordpress.com/themes/further/
http://theme.wordpress.com/themes/oxygen/Note that these are all image-heavy. If that’s not a feature of your site, you can use a regular non-magazine theme but structure your site differently.
For more help in choosing and then using a theme, you might want to check out our Themes forum:
