How do I change my domain name?
-
How can I change my blog’s web address? Isn’t it free? I feel a bit deceived if I must now pay to change it. Didn’t you say something like “don’t worry, you can change it later!” when you first requested my domain name? When I signed up I read that I’d be easily able to do this, so I chose an address really quickly just to get started. I will look further for a way to do this–it’s not as easy as I thought. Where’s the store? Please help.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

You can learn how to change your blog name here: http://en.support.wordpress.com/changing-blog-address/
And yes – WordPress.com domain names are always free (custom domain names are not), but note, however, you will lose all of your search engine results associated with your current domain.

Where’s the store? Please help.
WordPress.com is the the top level domain here.
All wordpress.com blogs are free and free hosted on .wordpress.com sub-domains.Yes you can change your .wordpress.com sub–domain URL to another .wordpress.com sub-domain URL free of charge, provided it’s available for registration.
However, if you are truly wanting to purchase your own domain then read on.
The seamless redirection from every .wordpress.com link to the domain link is automatic when you purchase a domain mapping upgrade. In fact it’s the reason we purchase domain mapping. May I suggest that read this so you understand the domain mapping process? http://onecoolsitebloggingtips.com/2012/04/02/do-i-need-a-domain/
In order to map to a domain one must have an underlying .wordpress.com subdomain blog to map from. If you have registered a .wordpress.com blog you log in as Admin under the exact same username account that registered the blog and purchase a domain name by purchasing an annually renewable domain mapping upgrade for the blog.
See here if you do not own a domain http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/
See here is you already own a domain and want to map to that domain from your .wordpress.com blog > http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/map-existing-domain/
Dashboard > Store > My Upgrades is where you do the primary blog set up knowing it can take between 24 – 72 hours for domain name propagation to take place throughout the internet. You can view the DNS changes here > http://www.whatsmydns.net/ What’s important during that stage is to be patient.
