How do I change my site's URL?

  How do I change my site’s URL? I have checked the forums and they describe going to settings>general and changing the site address. There is no Site aAddress, there is just Site Title. I want to use the free .wordpress.com version. I want to change the first part only.

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  If you want to change the blog address ie. the URL starting with http:// then you must be logged in as Admin under the exact same username account that registered the blog to do that and the URL you desire must be available. If so then you can change the URL by using this guide http://en.support.wordpress.com/changing-blog-address/

  That is for a WordPress.ORG install –

  For more on the difference: http://support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/

  And if you just change the URL in a .ORG blog in the Dashboard, you will crash the blog
