How do I change my website address?

I have already changed my account settings. The webiste address has been changed as I view it. However, if I go to the new website address which I created, it’s mentioned that this website doesn’t exist.

Can I change my website address please?

Hi gladysapiado,

You just need to go to Dashboard -> My Blogs. On the My Blogs page, hover your cursor over your current blog address so that the Change Blog Address option will appear and then click it.

What do you want the address to be?

The one you provide here, http://lakbaypamilya.wordpress.com/ has been deleted, so it’s gone forever. If that’s the one you’re trying to change to, you can’t. Deleted URLs cannot be re-registered by anyone, not the person who deleted them nor someone else: http://en.support.wordpress.com/recycling-blog-names/

There is also a different address linked to your username: http://apiadoadventures.wordpress.com/

Hi there, could I please ask for some help too?

I made a comment on another blog using my old WordPress login. I have deleted my blog and changed my username and WordPress web address, but when I click on the comment on that blog (which is still showing my old username) it takes me to my now deleted blog, which has a web address that I would rather wasn’t showing. I thought that by deleting my blog that would disappear. Is there any way to change this? Many thanks.

I’m afraid for a comment that’s already published you can’t do anything. The only possibility is contacting the owner of the blog where you left the comment and asking them to edit your comment to remove the link.

To prevent this happening again when you comment with your old account, log into that account and go to the Account Settings page: https://wordpress.com/settings/account/ and delete or change the URL next to Web Address. Just to be clear, this won’t change anything for comments already published, but only for future comments.

I was able to change and delete my old account lakbaypamilya.wordpress.com. I now have a new account apiadoadventures.wordpress.com
