How do I change my WP.com address?

    The following is a quote from the WP.com signup page: “Choose an address for your blog. You can change the WordPress.com address later.”

    I’ve set up a page, but haven’t found where/how one does this (change my WP.com address). Can someone point me to or provide some some instructions, please?

    For example, if I started out with http://www.abc.wordpress.com, how would I change it to http://www.xyz.wordpress.com?

    The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    The URL this option will permanently disable the address and you will not be able to reuse it. Only select this option if you are sure you will not use the address again. If you want to redirect traffic to the new blog, you can keep the address and purchase the Site Redirect upgrade. http://en.support.wordpress.com/changing-blog-address/

    Thanks for the quick response! However, having already paid for the customizing upgrade, I’m not too keen on paying another fee (especially since I have other issues which have not been addressed by staff support). Maybe I’d be better off starting a new blog tied to a new email address and copying the essence of the existing one into that. Viable workaround?
