How do I change settings to just show excerpt of post (with read more)?

  I run a blog with a Digg 3 theme. How do I change the settings to just show excerpt of post (with read more) as opposed to the whole post?

  There are several ways of splitting content. http://en.support.wordpress.com/splitting-content/ The most commonly used one is inserting “the more tag” http://support.wordpress.com/splitting-content/more-tag/ into posts so only excerpts appear on the front page.

  Note: This is not theme specific. It does not change the display of the full posts in your RSS feed sent to blog subscribers. if you want to do that too then go here > Settings > Reading and change your RSS Feed setting from “full text” to “summary”.
