I’m trying to change the colour of my tagline, however I can’t find the answer. I’ve searched the forums but nothing happens when I try. Please help!

Hi Abby, the Custom Design upgrade that you have lets you use CSS to make any visual changes that you’d like.
If you’re not familiar with CSS, I’d recommend checking out this article to get started: http://en.support.wordpress.com/custom-design/custom-css/
I hope that helps. Please let me know if you have any questions or run into any problems.

Hi Ian,
Thank you for getting back to me. I’ve had a look through the CSS stuff, but it’s still not working. I’ve fiddled about with the colour for both the headline and the tagline, but no changes are made when it says published.
I don’t know whether there’s something I’m missing.
Any thoughts?

Hi Abby, when I inspect the page, I see that the tagline text is inside an h2 element, and the h2 has a “site-description” class; so, you could target it like this:
h2.site-description {
color: orange;

Hi Ian,
I’m sorry, that doesn’t seem to be working either. I’ve added the above in twice now but it doesn’t update (despite me clearing the cache) and when I go back to the CSS to check it, it’s gone.

Hi Abby, you almost had it, but there was a tiny difference. I added a working example and left some comments to explain why the other one didn’t work.
I hope that helps. Let me know if you have any questions or anything :)
