How do I change the default setting to single-spaced posts?

  • Unknown's avatar

It seems that the WordPress software is auto-set to double-spaced lines in blog posts. I’m sure that there’s some easy, techy fix that I’m unaware of in order to change this setting, as I’d prefer single-line spacing. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    P.S. I’m working from a Mac.

You can probably achieve this by changing your line height using custom CSS:

    line-height

Something to keep in mind is that single spaced lines are more difficult to read on a screen. More whitespace helps our eyes read off of backlit screens, hence the web standard of wider spacing.

Let me know if you have any more questions!

Thank you for your help! I agree that with most writing single line spacing is beneficial, however most of my posts are short line poetry and the wide spacing seems to interrupt the flow when reading. Perhaps I’ll see if I can manage 1.5 line spacing, as I don’t want the lines to run together either. Thank you again!
