How do I change the default template for tweeting through Publicize?
-
Hello,
I’ve connected my WordPress blog to my Twitter account (using the Publicize feature) so that it will automatically tweet every time I publish a new post, but it looks like the default tweet created by WordPress is just “[Blog post title] [url]”. I know there’s the option to edit/customize the tweet manually before publishing your post, but I want to be able to change the actual default template slightly, so that I don’t have to customize the tweet every time I publish something.I just want the default tweet template to have something in front of it, like this: “New blog post: [blog post title] [url]”
Is there a way to change the tweet template in Publicize, without having to change it manually each time? Or do I need to get a plugin such as WP to Twitter to do this? (I’m hoping to do something similar with Facebook too, but I haven’t tried that yet.)
Thanks.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there,
There isn’t any way to change those settings at this time. We’re constantly working on improving how the Publicize feature works, so that the visual impact is maximized when posts are sent to the various social networks, however at this point customization of the templates are not possible.
Further, we don’t allow plugins in WordPress.com, so that also would not be an option within this environment.

Hello,
Thanks for your response! That’s a shame that it’s not possible to alter the template, but I hope this is something that might become possible in the future. -
Hi there, I passed along this suggestions to our developers, so they’ll keep it in mind as they work on future updates to the Publicize feature. :) Thanks for the feedback!
