How do I change the domain name associated with my account?

Even after reading help files and the user forums, I am still confused about the domain name associated with accounts. Specifically, can I change the domain name on my WP Premium account?

It is presently notarocketsurgeon.com (appropriate!) and I would like to change it to thefoundingrevisited.com.

If you could tell me how I can make that change and the associated fees, I would greatly appreciate it.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • Hi there – the domain notarocketsurgeon.com is not registered here at WordPress.com, but is only mapped here. I can cancel the mapping and set your free domain credit back to new so that you can map the other one instead. The domain thefoundingrevisited.com is also currently registered through GoDaddy – I assume you own this domain? You can map either or both to your WordPress.com site.

Let me know how you’d like to proceed!

Hi, eurella, thank you for a prompt and helpful response. Your offer to reset my free domain credit is more than I expected and I appreciate it.

Yes, I own thefoundersrevisited.com and I have pointed it to the WordPress name servers. If I can map that domain to my WordPress blog, I have no further use of notarocketsurgeon.com on WordPress.

    Thanks again!

  • Hi there – no problem, I was actually able to just swap them out on my end, so you’re all set: http://thefoundingrevisited.com/

You might need to clear your browser cache before loading your site. Let us know if you need anything else! :)

Wow! That is great service! As you can tell, I have only been fooling around with WordPress for a few days but I am impressed with your operation.

  • You’re very welcome! Have fun with the site. :)
