How do I change the font of the "title" on my pages?

  • Unknown's avatar

    I am using the bushwick theme on my site (rasnergroup.wordpress.com) and the title for pages such as http://rasnergroup.wordpress.com/brighton-condo/ appears very very large and takes up most of the page. How can I reduce the title’s font size?

    Thank you!

    Hi there,

    I took a look at your site, and I didn’t see a large title on the page you linked–but I think that’s because you are using a work around of leaving the title of the page blank and using an h2 tag to “fake” a title at the top of your post. I looked at your other pages, and saw the giant titles, and assumed those are the ones you really want to change. The code below will do that.

    .entry-title, .entry-title a{
        font-size: 1.8rem;
    }

    If I misunderstood and you do want the title at the top of the page you linked to be smaller, let me know and I’ll send you code for that as well.

    Hi Liz!

    Thank you so much! Yes, I needed to share the page today so I went ahead and didn’t put a title in as the work around.

    Anyway, how do I use the code you sent? When I go to the text section of the page the title isn’t part of the area of what I can change.

    Thank you again!
    Ilya

    Ah, sorry. Your site was so nice looking, I assumed you had used CSS before. :)

    In order for the code to work, first you’ll need to Custom Design Upgrade.

    Once you have that, just go to your customize menu from the dashboard, and when the customizer window pops up, click CSS and paste the code I gave you in the box that appears on the right side of the page. Click “save” and you’ll be good to go.

    If you don’t have the upgrade, you can still enter the code into the box and see what the change looks like, you just can’t publish it.

    Let me know if you have any more questions, or if you get stuck along the way.

    haha. thats nice of you to say! i have not used css before. do you think it is worth buying the upgrade for someone who doesn’t know anything about it? i just would hate to be on here all day asking questions to people.

    For a professional site that you want to make look exactly perfect, I think the $30 a year is absolutely worth it. The upgrade comes with more than just the ability to make CSS changes. You also get access to the custom color palette and custom fonts–which don’t require any coding at all.

    Also, the people who help out in the CSS forum, really like solving CSS puzzles. In fact, many of us do it as volunteers. So even if you come to the forum over and over to get your questions answered, you’ll get code snippets quickly and I promise the people who help you will not be bothered by your questions at all.
