How do I change the gallery opening style?
-
When I upload photos I name them with key words to optimise my website to google. However when I click on photos in a gallery or singles on a page or post they come up in a large viewer with my key words coming up in large under the image. It also gives the option to see the photo in high resolution or reblog! I don’t want this to happen. Is there any way to change it? I don’t mind it opening into a gallery but the image file name needs to go, as does the reblog button. Can you help me?

Laurence,
I can assist you in removing the image file names, but as those are displayed by default in Image Galleries, the only way to do this is with CSS code. You do not currently have the Custom Design upgrade that will allow you to do this, however. If you’re interested in learning more about the features of that upgrade, please click:

If you choose to upgrade, you can do the following to hide the titles:
Click Appearance → Customize in your site’s Dashboard. Then, click on the CSS link in your menu. In the CSS Revisions box, please paste the following underneath all existing text:
.jp-carousel-info h2,
.jp-carousel-titleanddesc {
display: none !important;
}Save your changes.
Regarding Reblogging: this is not a feature that can be turned off on WordPress.com sites. The only way to keep people from reblogging is to change your site to a private site, only allowing readers who have been previously invited to view your site. But that might not suit you, as you’re running a business.
If this is very important to you, you may want to consider moving to a self-hosted site which will allow you to establish your own security and publicity practices. If you haven’t looked into it before, here’s the difference between hosting here at WordPress.com and self-hosting via WordPress.org:
Let me know if you have any other questions. Many thanks!
