  How do I change the name of my blog? Which I haven’t registered etc yet?

  If you mean you wish to change the adventuresover50blog.wordpress.com name then you can follow the instructions in this “Change a Site Address” guide: https://en.support.wordpress.com/changing-site-address/.

  But seeing you have only just started your blog recently I wonder if you mean to ask how you can connect a domain name to your WordPress.com blog? If that is the case you can either register a new domain through WordPress.com as this guide explains: https://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/register-domain/ or you can buy a domain with another provider and map it to your WordPress.com blog as is detailed here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/map-existing-domain/. Please note both options requires you to purchase a plan with WordPress.com.
