How do I change the name of my blog?

  I’m new to this. When I signed up with WordPress, it asked for a user name, which is now the name and URL of the blog. Do I have to change my username to change the name of the site?

  You can change just the URL:

  Another alternative is to purchase a custom domain name to take “wordpress” out of the domain altogether.
