How do I change the name that appears when commenting on a site using OpenID?

    How do I change the name that appears when I comment on another site using OpenID? And what does it mean to allow that other site to access my information?

    I commented on a site today and went through the process to use WordPress OpenID, and my name came up as jazzsoup42, and then when I commented again later on the same site, it was listed as jazzsoup42.net.

    The site also didn’t seem to recognise that I was already signed in to my site, and I had to log out and back in again more than once before my comment was accepted…

    The small amount of information I could find on this issue was full of incomprehensible terms — could someone explain in terms a non-techie could understand? :) Thanks!
