I’m repeating here the feedback note you sent me directly so as to help get you a reply from the Community:
I have numbered the pages in the sequence I want them to appear in the basic menu on the top of my page, but that doesn’t stop them appearing more in the most recent order of creation on my home page. I would quite happily get rid of my home page if my blog just opened on my introduction page.
Is there anything else I can do?
Pages should not appear “in the most recent order of creation on my homepage.” That is what Posts do. Please see this for clarity: http://en.support.wordpress.com/post-vs-page/
Not being familiar with the theme you are using (Sundance), this will require a bit more investigation. However, if you created your information as separate Pages, it does seem a bit odd that they would appear on the homepage, and doubly so since they appear with comment fields under each “Page” section.
Before I tag this for Staff assistance, can you tell us what your settings are under Dashboard>Settings>Reading for “Front Page displays“?
