How do I change the settings on a large group of posts to "private?"

I am trying to change the status of 40ish posts that were previously “public” to “private.” How do I do that? I went into the Dashboard, and found where there were “Bulk Actions,” but I can’t find where I can change all the selected posts to “private” in one click, rather than… 40.

Yes, there is an easy way, using the Bulk Actions menu. :)

    • Go to your posts page (Posts > All Posts from your blog’s Dashboard) and you will see several links at the top of the page: ‘All’, ‘Published’, ‘Draft’, and ‘Private’. Click the ‘Private’ link
    • Use the checkbox at the top to select all the posts on the page (a max of 20), then select ‘Edit’ from the Bulk Actions menu and click the ‘Apply’ button
    • In the ‘Status’ section of the menu you are presented with, you can change the posts to Public, then click the Update button
    • You’ll also need to go to the second page and repeat the 2 previous steps, as the pages will only display options for 20 posts at a time
