When you insert image in your post. You will get the option like “thumbnail”, “medium”, “large” and “full” (the image you uploaded). You can change the image size from WordPress Administration Media panel under Settings > Media.

The size of Featured images is usually determined by the theme itself. While Featured images are not mentioned as a feature for Quintus, https://wordpress.com/themes/quintus/ you can add a full-sized image at the top of a post.
If you are adding those images in the Calypso Dashboard (“New Dash”) you can resize images by clicking the plus or minus signs after inserting the image.
The other option is to create and publish your posts in the WP Classic Admin Dashboard at https://patricia1957.wordpress.com/wp-admin/
Let us know if you need more help with that.

Thank you so much. The WP classic admin is what I have always used and I know how that works! I didn’t realise that i could still use it.
