How do I change the username displayed on old comments I've made?

  Okay, since learning WordPress won’t let me break up with it or edit comments I’ve made, I’m hoping my next best option is somehow changing the username that displays on really old comments I made. I’ve already changed my username and display name. I do **not** need help changing my current username and display name. I need help changing the username that is displayed on old comments I made. It doesn’t matter what those comments are, so please don’t bother asking, unless you can flag them and get them removed just cause you feel like it. (There isn’t anything that I think would warrant a WordPress deletion for offensive language, so you’d pretty much have to have the power of a tyrant in order to help that way.) I don’t want to contact the owner of the blog to have him remove them, the comments themselves aren’t really the issue. I want to change the name displayed next to these old comments.

  I realize I’m now drawing more attention to myself by posting this than I even originally wanted, but my only agreeable alternative is sitting and waiting. Is that a thing? Do I just have to wait for the system to change the username displayed on it’s own? Thanks in advance!
