How do I change the way a category page displays?

    category page display – I use the “Digg 3 column” theme. When you choose a category from my blog – I use the category widget – then you get a page with the complete entries in that category. What I used to see – or thought I did – was a page with a headline and just a sentence or two from the start of each entry, plus a link to the entry. That – the abbreviated entry with link – is much more useful. But I can’t figure out what I need to change to return to that format???
