How do I change the words bellow in my blog wich I think are called “footer” ?

    I’ve seen it in other wordpress blogs. I’d like to do the same to mine changing from “blog at wordpress.com” to “(name of blog) is powered by wordpress”
    I bought the custom CSS thinking that was the way, but I cant do it and cant find an answer anywhere.

    Can anyone tell me how to do this??

    You have to ask over at the wordpress.ORG forum
    Im assuming this is the blog your referring to http://www.bicycleunion.com

    nevermind, I tested out on my blog and I put this in

    #generator-link:before {
    content:”Senico “;
    }

    though, I can’t actually find a to replace “blog at wordpress.com” with some other words so it looked like “Sensico blog at wordpress.com”

    Hi, tanks for your answer
    yes, thats one of the blogs I was saying and I’ve seen some other also with diferent words like “Mutant is powered by wordpress” and that “Bicycle union is proudly powered by wordpress”

    In mine I want to put “SugarBikes has the sweet power of wordpress” or something like that.

    I tried that code you gave me but with no results

    what am I doing wrong?

    We need a link to your wordpress.COM blog.

    He doesn’t have one as far as I can find, just the .ORG that he linked to (bicycleunion). I told him in another thread on the same subject that he needed to head over to .ORG, but he’s still here.

    I went to .ORG but didn’t find any help yet or a valid solution for this problem
    some people gave me codes but I don’t know how or where to use it.

    Are you not sure where your blog is located? The wordpress.com (not worpress) link resolves to http://sugarbmx.com/ not http://sugarbikes.com

    Anyway – you cannot change the text in the footer. What aw123 mentions above is using a pseudo element to style the existing text. Unfortunately, that does not display in IE.

    All of the sites where you see “powered by WordPress” are self-hosted blogs, not ones hosted here at wordpress.COM

    Oh – and please link your wordpress.COM blog in your user name as explained in the sticky, 8 Things, at the top of the forums. We volunteers in the forums have a hard time helping you without it.

    The thing is that the themes here at wordpress.COM are modified from what are used on self-hosted blogs such as bicycleunion.com, and I’m not sure if the footer stuff is even close to the same.

    The “blog at wordpress.com” line is defined in the PHP files here at wordpress.COM, and we do not have access to those files, and as far as I know, there is no way to add to or change that text via CSS, which is the only thing we have access to (via the paid CSS upgrade).

    In all the self-hosted themes I’ve used or tested on my self-hosted blog, the footer text information and links are in the theme’s footer.PHP file and you have to be careful when changing or adding to those files or you will break things. You need at least a little experience with script to make sure you don’t mess things up.

    So I must have my blog hosted to change that??
