how do I change what Google displays

When Google finds our site, it displays “jacobsonchiro” as the first hit. This is our wordpress.com name, but it would be better to have it display Jacobson Chiropractic. Can you please tell me what to change? Is there blog metadata somewhere that I should change? Thanks!

You need to add ‘Jacobson Chiropractic’ as your Blog Title in Settings > General, and then ‘Hide Text’ in Appearance > Custom Header because you are using a custom header.

Awesome! You solved 2 problems in one. The original blank header was my sorry work-around, because I didn’t know about the ‘Hide Text’ custom header. Now it makes more sense. Thank you!
