How do I change WordPress’s idea of my current site?

    Recently I made some changes to my privately hosted, non-Wordpress-dot-com Web site. I placed the entire front end under WordPress’ control. When I log into WordPress.com, it believe my WordPress installation or my site is at http://www.developsense.com/blog, but these days it’s just developsense.com (although there are blog posts under, unsurprisingly, ‘/blog’).

    I’d like to change things so my WordPress profile/account is associated with developsense.com, but I’m having a terrible time figuring out how to change that setting, or even where it’s set.

    Jetpack: Yes
    Correct account: Yes

    No worries. We will get you all straightened out. Do I understand correctly, that you want to move your site to WordPress.com’s managed hosting environment?

    Currently, the site is hosted by inmotionhosting.com and running on a stand alone WordPress installation. With that version of WordPress you’re responsible for everything front end, back end, updates, and so forth. When using our managed hosting environment you only need to build your content, our team handles the rest.

    Can you tell me more about the project? What goals do you have? Are you going to keep the site as it is currently or revamp it? All of this information is going to help us get a better understanding of what your project needs and help us get you on the path for success.

    Hello there,

    It’s possible to disconnect Jetpack here: https://wordpress.com/settings/disconnect-site/www.developsense.com::blog?type=down from the old address.

    You’d then need to reconnect Jetpack as per: https://jetpack.com/support/reconnecting-reinstalling-jetpack/ with the new address.

    No, I don’t. I’m perfectly happy with the site where it is. It’s self-hosted, and it’s staying that way.

    When I visit wordpress.com, it believes that I have a site at https://www.developsense.com/blog. This used to be true. It is no longer true. My site is now simply https://developsense.com (no “blog”) at the end. I want nothing about the site to change. I only want to change wordpress.com’s notion of where it is.
