How do I clear all widgets if I can’t login in WordPress?

I got an error after updating WordPress and website went down:
PHP Fatal error: Uncaught ArgumentCountError: Too few arguments to function WP_Widget::__construct()

Probably an old widget that’s not compatible. How do I clear all widgets if I can’t login in WordPress?

  • Hey friend –

Looks like this site is set up on the open source WordPress project and hosted through cloudflare.com. That means, sadly, that it’s not set up on our managed hosting environment at WordPress.com and I have no access to help.

Try reaching out to your hosting provider and the volunteers at https://wordpress.org/support/forums/

We’d love to talk more about how a managed environment will help prevent these situations for you in the future. We are designed to save you time, energy, and money in the long run, while helping your project grow. Our team does the heavy lifting and you get to focus on the content. The hosting plans are available on https://wordpress.com/pricing/ and I can answer any questions you have about those features or the logistics of moving the site (PS- it’s super easy). Cheers, be well!
